What's up with the bridge?

It was a 150-foot-long covered bridge. For about ten years starting in the late 1950s, the federal gov't decided to play all kinds of silly games with the Weathersfield area. In this particular case, they created a flood-control area to help buffer the Connecticut River. This keeps the presumably more important areas down-river from getting flooded. As part of the project, they condemned the lower Perkinsville village; moved or tore down all of the houses, exhumed a graveyard, and removed a few bridges. This was the biggest one.

Your tax dollar at work.

If they did it in the '50s, that's my PARENTS tax dollars, not mine. Are you saying I'm old? Meanie!

Oh, come on. We'd be paying less now if they'd managed thos bucks better then. Yeah, that's it.
