So, in addition to trying to suppress the Swiftboats for Justice 527 ads, Kerry is now trying to suppress Unfit for Command. Interesting how quiet he has been about his own 527's ads (moveon.org, for example), and the various sketchy Bush attack books and movies. So much for the first amendment protections, eh? Oh, the first amendment only protects liberal speech.

The MSM, of course, is complicit by its silence. Can you imagine the hooplah and outrage if Bush tried to suppress the silly movie with the title stolen from Bradbury or an Al Franken book?

I had little interest in reading UfC, but if the Kerry campaign wants it removed from bookstores, it must be something, eh?

"Upon his command, the numerous small animals were slaughtered by heavy-caliber machine guns."

This could definitely lose him the Kucinich vegans.

What could be more fun than shooting up small animals with a fifty-cal? Sign me up.

I really don't care about supposed atrocities that Kerry 'admits' to; it's grandstanding.

I'm much more interested in the Christmas in Cambodia story and the varying accounts of the purple hearts, myself. His memory of Christmas '68 while on a secret trip upriver 'Apocalypse Now'-style is 'seared' into his memory, or so he's stated on the record numerous times. Seared.

Re: Seared
I used to have this cartoon up on my wall, a picture of a guy in a movie theater, looking aghast. "Howard discovers that a cherished childhood memory is actually a scene from an old movie."

I've found that there have been equal numbers of reports of Bush stifling ads and Kerry stifling ads. It all seems to depend on which news services you watch.

Well, anonymous, please point me to your information about Bush stifling ads... The only thing I can remember is some unhappiness on the part of gov't republicans regarding moveon's republican/nazi analogies; I certainly don't recall the white house legal thugs sending threatening letters to anyone as the hair pair are doing.

FWIW, I don't watch any news services on any kind of regular basis, though I do prefer Fox to CNN.

Hmm. Guilty conscience?

No fear; I know you would, Ewr. My suspicion is that the poster is a particular dear relative of mine who reads my journal; he does not have an LJ account which would explain the anonymous posting.

I do have a guilty conscious. Not about that though. Maybe it's transference...

Nope! As joanarkham would say, "Honest to Bob!"

bxiie and I have argued enough on here that I wouldn't feel the need. I'd either say out straight out or just not at all.

oh no, of course not -- I just thought maybe it was someone who forgot they weren't logged in!

Re: I'm not anonymous!
I am utterly anal about logging in. I have my browser set at home to log out "never", and at work, I always go to LJ's main page first to log in, before I do anything else.

Oh, and I can't believe I wrote I have a "guilty conscious". That's SO lame!

Yes, and I was going to tease you about "voting your conscious" and then I accidentally typed it correctly. D'oh!
