Last week's 'suicide by cop' tragedy has been debunked, at least in local publications. It seems that the poor Marine had a history of gang affiliation and was high on blow at the time he killed a police officer and was subsequently shot in the course of an armed robbery. One true nugget from the lamestream media coverage was that this Marine did, in fact, have pending deployment orders... Except that they were to Okinawa, not Iraq. Where's the national media correction? None forthcoming; the 'right' point was made and the 'right' people stirred up.

I'm chronically frustrated at the lack of column space (or whatever the online equivalent is) that corrections get. At least on radio they tend to be broadcast in the same timeslot, but those are easy to miss too.

In my opinion, it seems that the LSM does not care to correct stories that originally can be made to meet thier agenda and are subsequently disproven.
