Results are finally in. I took the exam on June 12. Today I got my results; I passed. Now I'm a nationally registered EMT-I. "Woot, woot!", as they say. I will get my New Hampshire certification by sending in a copy of the NREMT card; I will have to take yet another exam to get my Vermont cert. I have no idea when I will be able to take the Vermont exam; one has to be offered in order for me to take it and there aren't that many 'I' courses given in the state. I'm going to give the state office a call tomorrow and see what I can find out.

Who let that owl in here?

Now that he's gone, let me say, Congrats!

Wait - if you are nationally certified, why do you now have to take a state certification for VT? Doesn't "national" trump "state"?

Well...

The national Registry is a board that provides standardized testing and registration. Some states honor the National Registry more or less than others. New Hampshire will certify me solely based on the National Registry results; Vermont will allow me to take the Intermediate exam based on my National Registry results.
