Lovely

So, of late, things are starting to look a little scary.

This is wonderful.

So it this.

http://www.tdbimg.com/files/2009/04/30/-hsra-domestic-extremism-lexicon_165213935473.pdf

(U)  rightwing extremism (...) A movement of rightwing groups or individuals who can be broadly divided into those who are primarily hate-oriented, and those who are mainly antigovernment and reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

So, if I agree with the breakdown of state and federal power as outlined in the constitution, I am by definition a right-wing extremist and no better than, say, bombers of abortion clinics?  Also, if I favor the constitution-as-written, I am therefore 'antigovernment'?

I guess the lawmakers in Oklahoma better pack their bags.

Governor of Texas, too.

Lawmakers in Minnesota, too.

I'd say things are gonna get pretty tense around here.

Re: OH and p.p.s.
Actually, Rick and his cronies (is there ANY other acceptable word for colleagues in Texas?) have one point: '[HCR 50] also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.'

Oh, like the federal government threatening to rescind all aid to colleges and universities who bar military service recruitment on campus based on DADT?

Trudat EWR: Funny how Perry and similar asswipes had nothing to say about the fedgov overextending its powers when Bush was in power. Because Bush NEVER did anything to extend fedgov power, right?

Feh.
