We have no compelling reason to be in the Middle East that anyone here agrees with; let's leave it to those that really want it.http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050117-115550-1929r.htm
People allowing themselves to be manipulated into antiwar stances should understand A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalitions's motives... These may be discerned by research into who comprises the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition... One tip; an organization's "About Us" information may be disingenuous. Research is research, not feeding on the pap they would have us consume; eagerly licking the proffered tube like someone's caged gerbil then hopping away to run on the treadmill of 'loyal opposition'.
What? You don't know who A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition is? They've been planning and funding mass demonstrations for years on a variety of apparently unrelated issues.
Interesting how there seems to be some kind of intersection between Democrat educational initiatives (see rabidkitten

), transfer of strategic knowlege to Red Chinese by capitalists that would sell their own mothers for a HumVee and a McMansion, manipulation of people that claim to be supporters of human rights into positions opposing liberation of victims of tyranny, and an associated call for the single largest exporter of democracy and human rights in human history to leave the Middle East to chaos.
Anyone here actually believe that the Red Chinese are tending towards democracy? Nope. Where's the outrage over Tibet? Persecution of Falun Gongers? Persecution of Christians? Persecution of democratic students? Inhumane conditions of sweatshop employees? Forced abortions based on gender, family size, or regional quotas? Systematic inhumane treatment of prisoners? Holding of political prisoners without charges or recourse? Constant threats to the sovereignty of Taiwan? The building of military bases abroad? These are all behaviors that would be loudly condemned by the usual people if the US had done them, but Red China gets a pass. Why? That's not what's coming out of the tube, that's why, so we neither notice nor care.
What does it all mean?
One of the first Navy idioms I learned in boot camp... "Stand by for heavy weather."
P.S. The Washington Times article refers to 'A Chinese company with close ties to Beijing's communist rulers' that 'holds long-term leases on port facilities at either end of the Panama Canal'. This is none other than Hutchison-Whampoa, a company that I have mentioned in this space before. 'Close ties', in this case, means 'owned by a high-ranking general and probably a front for complete government control'. Thanks, Jimmy!
