To whom it may concern,
I am an independent who has voted for Mr. Bush twice. I am writing to register my disbelief and disappointment with Mr. Rumsfeld's gagging the Pentagon employees who know of the Able Danger program from testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee. I understand that some may feel that there is a national security issue with these individual's testimony; however, at this point, I feel that the very credibility of the entire federal government is at stake. Please let the truth come out; please insist that these individuals be allowed to testify.
Sincerely,
Bjamexza Q. Pyndejo
I'm stunned at the subterfuge here.
What is Able Danger? It was a datamining project that allegedly found al Queda activities in the US and abroad years before 9/11. It was shut down, ostensibly over domestic privacy issues.
When's the last time the government felt we had a right to privacy, eh? Well, now they're standing on principle.
